Tile fails when the prep is rushed. On slab-on-grade homes common here, we check for cracks and flatness before setting floor tile, and in showers we use cement board or foam board with a waterproofing membrane. Shower valve or drain changes are referred to a licensed plumber.

Tile Installation & Repair FAQ
Can you replace a few cracked tiles?
Yes, if matching or close-matching tile is available. We cut out the damaged tiles without disturbing their neighbors and regrout.
Do you waterproof showers?
Yes. Shower walls get a waterproofing membrane system behind the tile. Any changes to the valve or drain are handled by a licensed plumber.
Do you do electrical, plumbing or HVAC work?
No. Those trades require Texas licenses. When a project needs them (for example an ADU or she shed with power and A/C), we coordinate Texas-licensed partners.
